Letters patent inspecting letters patent to the Abbot and monks of St. Mary Graces nigh Tower of London. Edward III, the founder of the Abbey, acquired from James de Audele kt. the reversion of the manors of Bouytracey, Northlieu, Holdesworthy and Langacre, co. Devon, of the manors of Blakedon, Westludeford and Staunton, co. Somerset, and the manor of Takkebury, co. Cornw., with the advowsons of Blakedon, West Ludeford and Holdesworthy, worth 200 marks p.a., which he gave to John, Duke of Lancaster and others to enfeoff the Abbot and monks. Richard II, after the death of Audele, granted the same to John Holand, his brother, Earl of Huntingdon. Later, by letters patent, Richard II granted the Abbot and monks 110 marks p.a. to be received from the farm of Scardeburgh in England. Possessions of John Holand have come to King's hands who now grants the premises to the Abbot and monks, with the consequential proceedings and a writing of the Abbot and monks inspected, dated Christmas 2 Henry IV.
