King on 23 August 17 Henry VIII granted by letters patent to Ralph Egerton kt. office of Chief Steward of Castle of Lyon, otherwise Holte, in Marches of Wales, and Steward of Castle of Chyrke and Chyrkislande in Marches of Wales. Steward of manors of Kynlleth and Owen in Chyrkislande in Marches of Wales, for life, usual fees ; also office of Receiver of Castle of Lyon, Bromfeld and Yale, for life, £13-6-8 p.a, Grant of reversion of same to William Brereton, Groom of Privy Chamber. Great seal.
