Letters patent. Edward III, by letters patent, gave licence to the Prior and Convent of Carthusians, Witham, to acquire lands to the value of £10 p.a., except lands held in chief. Licence to William Stourton, John Olynay, John Bolston, Gilbert Stone, clerk, John Holewell, clerk, and Walter Hart, clerk, to give to the Prior and Convent, 14 messuages, 100 a. land, 4 a. meadow, 8 a. wood, 12 a. briar, 10d. rent and rent of a rose and the eighth part of a pound of pepper, in Funcelgiffard not held of King.
