Indenture of Lease. (1) Edward, Duke of Somerset, Earl of Hertford, Viscount Beauchamp, Lord Seymour, K.G., Earl Marshal of England and High Treasurer of same, Governor of King and Lord Protector of his Realms, and (2) Walter Erle gent. Lease for fine of£30 of messuage and house in Oterye St. Mary, co. Devon, called the Wardeynes House, with gardens etc. 1 a., 2 a., meadow, 4 a. land in 3 closes in Oterye, 1 a. meadow near Oxenlease, 1 a. meadow behind the garden, 1 a. meadow near Highe Woodde, 4 a. 8 p. arable land called Swynehayes and Bremathame in the Moore, 21 years, 34s. 8d. p.a. Seal ; signature : Walter Erle.
