Tripartite Indenture. (1) Thomas Oueray, clerk, Precentor of Cathedral Church of Wells, Richard Warre esq, John Porter, John Portman, William Godde, clerk, Richard Burton, Thomas Wareyn, William Marke, John Sargar, James Boys, Alexandwe Tose, John Wynn, Walter Doolinge, Thomas Fyssher, Robert Eston, Richard Merike Walter Danyell, Henry Towwyll, William Dowdenay, William Truppe, (2) John Bysshopp, William Payne, vicar of parish church of Pytmystre, Nicholas Ameen, chaplain, and William Boys, junior, chaplain. John Bysshopp lately founded a chantry in honour of Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary and the Apostles Peter and Paul, James, Andrew and Thomas, and SS. Giles and Botolph, confessors, and SS. Mary Magdalen, Katherine and Margaret, at the altar of St. Nicholas, Bishop, Taunton, in memory of William Waynflete, Bishop of Winchester, John Bysshopp, John Proctor and the feoffees, and for the souls oh Henry, Cardinal, late Bishop of Winchester, Alice, the wife of John Bishopp, Thomas Broke kt., and Joan, his wife, William Bysshopp and Margatet, his wife, parents of John Bysshopp, Thomas Bysshopp, his brother, John Osborne, Alice and Matilda, his wives, Thomas Osborne and Margaret, his wife, John Boughe, John Warre and Robert Warre. For the maintenance, John Bysshopp, by charter, granted to Roger Wheler, vicar of the parish church of Yartecomb, William Godde, vicar of the parish church of Baggeburgh, William Dowdenay, of Taunton, and Richard Colbrend, a messuage and various tenements in Estrete, Taunton, co. Somerset, tenement and 13 tenements called Almeshouses, in Churchelane there, 2 shops in the middle of the market, stables, a tenement in Shitterne and lands and tenements in Cerney and Pylle, same co., which persons, at request of John Bysshopp. demised to William Payne, Nicholas and William Boys, the premises, who demised them to John Bysshopp, for term of his life and 3 years after, after to parties named in (1) Above. At Taunton. 4 tags.
