Indenture of Sale. (1) Edward, Duke of Somerset, and (2) William Gyes, p. of Strounde without Bars of New Temple, London, co. Midd., gent., and Crystain, his wife. King, by letters patent, 6 August 2 Edward VI, sold to Gyes and to Michael Puresey, late of Whaldys-borowe, co. Leics., gent., 2 dwelling houses in pp. of Strounde and St. Cleyments Daynes without Bars of New Temple, London, co. Midd., late College of Our Lady of Leyster, called the New Wark, and land in p. of Harrow on the Hyll, co. Midd., late chantry of Harrowe upon the Hill, in parish church there. Sale by Gyes and wife of capital messuage called the Gote and the garden belonging, in p. of Strounde. Signature : William Gyes. Acknowledged before Anthony Huse, Master in Chancery, 5 August 4 Edward VI. Endorsement of enrolment on dorse of Close Roll, Edward Ridge.
