Indenture of Agreement. (1) John, Earl of Warwick, Viscount Lisle, K.G., Great Chamberlain of England and President of King's Council in Marches of Wales, and (2) Sir Thomas Cheyne K.G., Treasurer of King's Household. Henry VIII, by letters patent under great seal of Court of Augmentations, 28 June 32 Henry VIII, granted Sir Thomas Cheyne the office of Constableship of his castle of Saltwood, co. Kent, and the office of keeping his chief messuage of Westinhanger, co. Kent, and its orchards and gardens, the office of Steward of his manor of Alyngton, co. Kent, and of keeping his parks of Westinhanger, Alyngton and Saltwood, with the following wages: £9-2-6, 6d. a day, 6d. a day, 4d. a day, 4d. a day, 4d. a day, for life. Edward VI, by letters patent under great seal of England, 22 December 1 Edward VI, granted to the Earl, his manors of Hostinhanger, otherwise Westinhanger, Aldington and Saltwood, and the parks of Hostinghanger, Westinhanger, Aldington and Saltwood and lands there. Cheyne releases all the offices to the Earl and the Earl grants Cheyne an annuity of £70. Tag, signature : T. Cheyne.
