Indenture of Sale. (1) Edward, Duke of Somerset, and (2) William, Bishop of Bath and Wells. Sale of capital house belonging to the Bishop's see of Bath and Wells, called the Bishop's Palace of Bath and Wells, in Wells, co. Somerset, and all houses etc. within the site, and the house for the safe keeping of clerks convicted, the two manors of Wells and Westbury, the borough of Wells and the hundred of Wells and Wells Foreign, and the park called Westbury Parke, with exceptions. Confirmation by the Dean and Chapter of the Cathedral Church of Wells, 29 December 1550. 2 seals, signature W. Bathon. et Wellens.
