Grant by Ralph Smyth, chaplain of the chantry of St. John the Baptist in the Collegiate Church of St. Mary, Southwell, co. Notts., Thomas Dun, chaplain of the chantry of St. Peter, in the same church, William Ballington, chaplain of the chantry of St. Cuthbert, in the same church, Robert More, the other chaplain of St. Cuthbert, Christopher Souver, chaplain of the chantry of St. Mary Magdalen in the same church, Francis Hall, Chaplain of the chantry of St. Stephen, in the same church, Thomas Palmer, chaplain of the chantry of St. Thomas Bekket, in the same church, Richard Harryson, the other chaplain of the chantry of St. Thomas Bekket, William Kirke, chaplain of the chantry of St. John the Evangelist, in the same church, John Wilson, chaplain of St. Michael, in the same church, and Ralph Bacon, chaplain of the chantry of St. John the Baptist, in the same church, to Henry VIII, of capital house or messuage in Southwell, with all houses etc. in co. Notts, or elsewhere in England, belonging to the chantries. Given in the Chapter House at Southwell. Attached is the confirmation by the Chapter of Southwell, same date. Signatures : Edward Bassett, John Brandishe, John Adams, Geoffrey Downes, Richard Deane. The whole has the seal of the Chapter and 9 other seal tags, containing 14 seals and signatures : Ralph Bacon, John Colton, Thomas Dun, Robert More, Robert Bayly, Thomas Pallmer, William Balyngham, William Kyrke, Ralph Smyth, John Wylson, Richard Herryson, Christofer Sawer, Francis Hall. Endorsement of enrolment on dorse of Close Roll.
