Transcript of Indenture of Agreement, between (1) Roger Rawe, Mayor of Macclesfeild, co. Chester, and (2) Ralph Hollinshed, of Haywood, co. Chester, gent., and (3) Leonard Shallcrosse, of Shallcrosse, co. Derby, esq., Thomas Greene, son and heir apparentof Thomas Greene, of Bollington, co. Chester, and Roger Broster, son of Hugh Broster, of the forest of Macclesfeild, co. Chester, yeoman, in consideration of the marriage solemnized between Richard Rawe, son and heir apparent of Roger, and Elizabeth, daughter of Ralf Hollingshead, that within a year Roger Rawe shall levy a fine to Leonard Shallcrosse, Thomas Greene, and Roger Broster, before the Justice of Chester of a capital messuage etc., 8 messuages, 8 burgages, 6 tofts, 8 gardens, 60a. land, 20a. meadow, 40a. pasture, 4a. wood, 8a. heath, and a yearly rent of 8s. 8d. in Macclesfeild, to uses: capital messuage or grange in Macclesfeild, at the north end of Pernedingstreete, wherein Roger inhabits, etc., ½ burgage in Macclesfeild, in occupation of George Norbury, a burgage in Gooselane in the occupation of John Knight, buildings called the Turracles adjoining the Markett Place, and lands called the Bull Feilds, Milesand, Morsecroft lying near the same, the Furbacheter, 2 meadows called the Farthings, the Dayne meadow, the Pyrtewall, and the Pyrtewall Crofte, the Ashton Crofte, Blagge Crofte, Gylburne Crofte, la. called the Baylye Butt, a close, parcel of the Halleyfeild, the Taynter Crofte, a garden in Dead Manes Lane, chief rents of 8s.8d.: to the use of Roger for life and one year, and then to use of Richard Rawe, his son and heir apparent, and his heirs by Elizabeth.
