Indenture of Lease, by Nicholas Assheton, esq., and Elizabeth his wife, late wife of Thomas Fyton, of Pownall, dec., to Humfrey Neuton, of Neuton, gent., and Elyn, his wife, daughter and co heir of Thomas, of 7 messuages, 3 tofts, 8 gardens, 100a. land, 20a. meadow, 40a. pasture, 10a. wood, 100a. heath, 40a. moor, in Pownall and Bolyn, and an annual rent of 28s. in Church Mynshull, Worleston and Olton; rent £20 p.a.; the premises having been granted by John Pownall, by tripartite indenture, 1 January 23 Henry VII, to William Both, kt., William Hondford, esq., Edmund Trafford, son and heir apparent of Edmund Trafford, kt., John Fyton, son and heir apparent of Edward Fyton, of Gouseworth, esq., and John Hondford, parson of the church of Assheton, to use of Elizabeth, for life.
