Transcript of Agreement, by Alderman William Chauntrell, of Bache, co. Chester, with Henry Hardware, of Chester, for a marriage to be solemnized before 2 February next, between William Chauntrell, son and heir apparent of William Chauntrell, and Anne Hardware, daughter of Henry Hardware. Messuages etc. in Bache, Hale, Castle Hill, Moston, Upton, Newton, Mooreton, Bramhall, Sale, Dunham, Alrincham, Partington, and Chester, co. Chester, of yearly value of £63, allowing lands in Moston to be of yearly value of £4, reserving jointures of Jane Chauntrell, widow, mother of William Chauntrell, and of Elizabeth his wife, a life annuity of 5 marks out of demesne lands of Bache, payable to Jane Chauntrell, widow, a life annuity of 46s. 8d. out of demesnes of Bache payable to Paule Chauntrell, brother of William Chauntrell, and a lease for 3 lives or 21 years, of tenements parcel of premises other than demesnes of Bache and Castle Hill. Within one year, William Chauntrell, the father, and Jane Chauntrell, his mother, at next Chester assizes to convey by fine to Sir George Calveley, Sir Edward Fitton, Henry Delves and Ranulphe Manwaringe, to uses, the demesne house of Chester Hill and its demesne lands, now or late in tenure of William Chauntrell, Maulde Graunge, widow, George Goulden, the younger, William Arshall, Richard Johnson, Ranulphe Jamy, Fraunces Hueth, Henry Arshall, Robert Alcocke and Richard Allen; a moiety of water mill in Hale, called The Castle Mylne, etc. to use of William Chauntrell, the son, and Anne Hardware: and premises now or late in tenure of Henry Arshall, the elder, of yearly value of 24s. 6d., a close in tenure of Robert Birchall, of yearly value of 13s. 4d., a messuage etc. in holding of James Gebban, of yearly value of 10s., a messuage etc. in holding of William Booth, of yearly value of 21s., all in Hale, to use of Jane Chauntrell, widow, for life, after her death to use of William Chauntrell, the son, and Anne Hardware: yearly rent of £23.6.8. to Jane Chauntrell, widow, out of capital messuage and lands in Bache: all messuages etc. in Hale, now or late in tenure of William Hill, William Malton, John Peirson, Ranulphe Lambe, George Gouldinge, the elder, Thomas Peirson, Richard Massy, Richard Johnson, Henry Warburton, and Maude Hollinprest, widow, in Mooreton, Moston, Upton, Newton, and Chester, to use of William Chauntrell, and Elizabeth, his wife, for lives, after which £100 of issues for Mary, Dorothie and Margaret, their daughters, if not married, with provision for further daughters.
