This series comprises headquarters files relating to British Council activities in the Persian Gulf, comprising correspondence between the headquarters of the British Council and its overseas representative in the Persian Gulf, and other papers relating to Council activities in this area.
The British Council representative was based in Kuwait and until separate offices opened in other Persian Gulf countries, Kuwait was administratively responsible for the whole region.
The files in this series relate specifically to Kuwait, and also to activities in other Persian Gulf countries prior to the establishment of offices in those countries.
