Note (Additional information about the record)
- Continho died in 1799. He was a member of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem, and on becoming a member his property had automatically passed in its entirety into the possession of the Order. In 1794, he was granted a special dispensation to dispose personally of one fifth of his property, and in virtue of this he made a will which was proved and executed after his death. Continho's financial holdings in England were transferred into the name of William Collins, attorney for the Receiver-General of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem, and they continued to remain in his name even after the suppression of the Order of St. John in 1834.
