A packet of letters from Jesuits in Pekin, Canton, and elsewhere in China, to the Pope, to Thyrsus Gonzales, General of the Society at Rome, and to various Jesuit fathers and others in France and Italy; including a copy of a letter from the General appointing father Gerbillon vice-Provincial in China, a list by the hand of father Domenge of missionaries of various orders in China and a Manchu imperial rescript in duplicate (cp. Brevis Relatio, Pekin 1701). With various specimens of small round Jesuit seals, bearing the holy monogram, and of seals made with a Chinese coin. These letters were presumably intercepted, or conveyed no further than England, by some English ship. They were formerly classified under Foreign Office, China.
