Description

Original Letters Patent granting permission to the Archbishop of Canterbury and others [named], who had been appointed by Letters Patent of May 9th 1723 Keepers and Justices of the Realm during the King's absence, to pass beyond the seas during the said absence after obtaining permission. [The Great Seal, brown wax, on plaited red and white cords]

Note
The whole in a leather covered wooden box lined with wallpaper, the pattern stamped on printed sheets. A sample of this has been transferred to SP 9/64/2, 6 May 1998
