These include minutes, papers and correspondence of the Committee on the Education and Training of Students from Overseas (1933-1935); correspondence of senior officers about the formation of the British Council; its relations with the Foreign Office and the Ministry of Information; reports from officers in the field; Second World War plans and activities; and post-World War cultural co-operation, meetings, committees and activities, including two volumes of texts of speeches (1949-1956) by the council's chairman, Sir Ronald Adam.
