'Map of the Island of Malta': shows roads, railways, buildings, terrain and place names.Two sheets, two copies of each.Reference table.Compass indicator.Sketched and compiled in 1895 by Captain E M Woodward, Leicestershire Regiment, DAAG, under the direction of General Sir A J Lyon Fremantle.Detail based on triangulation executed for the six-inch map of the Malta Public Works Department.Coastline taken from Admiralty charts.Spelling of place names revised by N Vassallo, chief draughtsman, Public Works Department.Photozincographed at the Ordnance Survey Office, Southampton, 1897.Published on behalf of the War Office by Edward Stanford, Charing Cross, London.Stamped in the Intelligence Division, War Office, 7 June 1898. Dimensions: each sheet 71 cm x 43 cm on sheet 86 cm x 60 cm.
