'Plan and Section of an Intended Railway from the Town and Borough of Wigan to the Town and Borough of Newton, in the County of Lancaster': map and section also showing a proposed branch line to Aspull, junctions at Newton with the Liverpool & Manchester Railway, and the Leeds & Liverpool Canal. Scale: 1 inch to 500 yards (horizontal); 1 inch to 30 chains (vertical). Compass indicator. Compiled by John Mather from surveys made under the direction of Charles Vignoles, 28 November 1829; lithographed by R Martins, 124 High Holborn. Endorsed: 'Wigan to Newton Railway 697'.
