'Wyld's Great Western Railway Map 1839': two copies of a map and section showing the line between London Paddington and Bristol. Scale: 1 inch to 5 miles (horizontal); 1 inch to 600 feet [1:7,200] (vertical). Published by James Wyld, Geographer to the Queen, Charing Cross East. Insets: maps and sections of the Bristol and Exeter Railway and [Cheltenham and Great] Western Union Railway; outline map of the British Isles, showing the positions of these three railway lines. Three labels are affixed to copy A only: (i) on the front cover: 'Wyld's Great Western, Cheltenham, Bristol & Gloucester Railway Map'; (ii) inside the cover: 'Presented by Mr Percy Chester, 8 Melville Road, Hove, September 1935'; (iii) Great Western Railway Company label, annotated: 'Catalogued in the Company's Collection of Exhibits at Paddington Station as No B. 306'.
