Despatches from Walter Egerton, governor of British Guiana, in continuation of CO 111/596 as well as letters received from various government offices (departments) during 1914. Despatches are described at item level; correspondence from Offices (most of which relates to the despatches sent from the governor in CO 111/593-597) is not.
Offices: Admiralty (movements of enemy war ships, dates of sailing of ships); Crown Agents (note issues of Royal Bank of Canada and British Guiana Bank, Demerara Railway Company, loan, assistant colonial engineer, Captain H M Brunker's pension; Foreign Office (balata industry in Surinam, administration of Venezuelan frontier, alleged invasion of Venezuelan territory, Brazilian boundary, application of A Leechman for letters of introduction, amendment of Dutch Guiana Labour Ordinance, development of interior, British Guiana labourers in Zambezia, claim of C G Filardi, Chinese proceeding to United States.
