Description

Correspondence from 'offices' (Government departments and other organisations) and individuals on matters relating to British Guiana. Correspondents and subjects are as follows:

Offices:

  • Crown Agents (issue of 4% loan of £250,000);
  • Board of Trade (difficulties arising from engagement of seamen without a definite form of agreement);
  • Law Officers (comments on draft ordinance relating to the extradition of criminals escaped from French Guiana);
  • Treasury (employment of jurist in connection with the Venezuelan boundary question: suggestion that the task could be undertaken by legal officials of Foreign Office and Colonial Office);
