From 1977 British Council
The British Council was represented in Czechoslovakia from 1945 to 1950. From 1963 an officer of the council was attached to the British Embassy, but there was no separate council office. The British Council was again represented in Czechoslovakia after the restoration of democratic government in 1990. After the separation of the Czech and Slovak republics in 1993, the British Council maintained offices in both Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
