Description

Acknowledgement of royal supremacy, renunciation of papal authority and recognition of the legitimacy of King Henry VIII's marriage to Anne Boleyn, by the prioress and convent of the Priory of Dartford, Kent. [See E 36/116, ff 64r-65v for a copy of the same. This acknowledgement is also endorsed on the close roll: C 54/403, m 15d. Much of the text used here is the same as that employed by other religious houses later in 1534]
