Description

Letter of appeal to the dean and chapter of Salisbury cathedral requesting the augmentation of the benefice of St. Samson, Cricklade (Wiltshire) due to the petitioner's poverty and the plea brought against him by Robert Skydby, vicar of the same church. The petitioner had been granted a pension but Robert, who had been presented to the church by the dean and chapter and had received the tithes of Wydyhyll' [Widhill, Wiltshire], denied him this.
