Notification, pursuant to a papal mandate, from E. prior of Merton (Surrey), W. Official of the archdeacon of Surrey and R. dean of Ewell (Surrey), that whereas the Cluniac prior and convent of Lewes (Sussex) complain to the Pope that the abbot of West Dereham (Norfolk) and certain others of the dioceses of Norwich and Ely injure them over tithes, rents, possessions and other property and whereas they have accordingly summoned the parties to resolve the dispute, notably Ralph de Sidesterne, parson of the church of Burnham Thorpe, formerly dedicated to St. Mary but now to All Saints (Norfolk), they award the prior and convent 20s. per annum from that church as a pension, together with £7 10s. in damages for all injuries and expenses, Ralph having delayed the plea and undertaken other things prejudicial to the prior and convent.
