Dispute about the church of Broadwater (Sussex).
Libel of Master John Urry, canon and prebendary of Erkham in Chichester cathedral, canonically presented to the parish church of Broadwater (Sussex), in his plea against Simon [Sydenham] bishop of Chichester and Richard Croner' alias Cowper, chaplain, following the death of John Mapilton', late rector of Broadwater, to which Roger Leukenore and Ralph Radmylde had the right of presentation. Roger Leukenore presented Master John to the bishop, which he accepted and admitted him. Ralph Radmylde firstly presented John, son of Robert Lord Ponynges, who was within age. He then promoted Cowper and through various means and at the connivance of the bishop prevented Urry from being admitted, despite his presentation. Urry prays for his installation as his right and damages from his opponents.
