Description

Appointment by John Tyssebury, prior of the Augustinian priory of Breamore (Hampshire), Wiliam Norton', sub-prior, Thomas Croukern', precentor, Thomas Brommore, sacrist, William Rummeseye, William Hymersord, John Gyen' and John London', the convent of Breamore, of proctors, Brother John Bounde, canon of Breamore, and Master John Penkeston', clerk, with full power and special mandate to act in a dispute concerning the church of Breamore and the chapel of South Charford (Hampshire) against Sir John la Zouche Mortimer and Sir John Popham, knights, and John Haylok, John Bure, Nicholas Sprake, William Waldrich, Richard Pat, John Diggere, John Chalke, John Ryveray, Thomas Coleman, John Deveysshe and Richard atte lane, lay inhabitants of the vill or hamlet of South Charford, and the parishioners of the parish church of Breamore, relating to the unjust withdrawal and detention of both greater and lesser tithes within the bounds of the hamlet and lordship of South Charford in the years 1384, 1385, 1386 and 1387, and also offerings and other ecclesiastical revenues, and all other offerings whatever made by the noble men, and also by reason of the withdrawal of a supposed chaplain celebrating divine service, as is pretended, in the chapel, and the pretended dilapidation or destruction of a certain manse once in the hamlet to the use of the chaplain, the rebuilding or repair of which pretended manse pertained to Brother John Bounde and Master John Penkeston'.
