Petition to the Queen of Robert Driver, a royal tenant of Pleshey (Essex), pursuant to an arbitration in which he had been awarded 30s towards the sustenance of the brotherhood of St Mary, Pleshey. Subsequently, Thomas Gawle, understeward of the town of Pleshey, had interrupted payment thereof, Robert had been harrassed by John Bervy, formerly farmer of Barricks (Berwyk) in the parish of Pleshey, with the connivance of Thomas Gawle, and consequent lost £10, and now suffers at the hands of Gawle, the current farmer, who daily destroys his lands and meadows, closes and pastures to the tune of £10. Accompanying petitions from Edmund Magott for assistance in reclaiming from Gawle, his covenanted master, all but 12d of a sum of 17s 8d due to him, and Richard Gamoun and Nicholas Loue, tenants of the royal lordship of Pleshey, who claim they have been distressed in a cow, horse and bullock by William Bempee and his son of the town of Little Dunmow (Essex) at the connivance of Gawle. Request remedy through Thomas Gawle.
