Notarial instrument, drafted by John Barwe, clerk and public notary, issued by John de Dutton', official of the archbishop of Chester, attesting that Brother Robert de Preston', monk and proctor of the Cistercian monastery of Vale Royal (Cheshire) in the diocese of Coventry and Lichfield, exhibited a transcript of bulls of Pope Alexander IV, concerning privileges granted to the Cistercian Order [1255-1257], drafted by Walter le Norreys, public notary, son of Robert Lawys of Kyllum in the diocese of York (in 1299), at the Cistercian abbey of Stratford Langthorne in the presence of Brother Adam de Herford and Geoffrey de Colton', clerks. Instrument drafted in the presence of Master Roger de Dauenporth', rector of Cristenton', Sir Richard de Swanlowe, vicar of Frodsham (Cheshire), Sir John de Molineux, chaplain, Thomas de Duncalf, Matthew de Weuerham, Robert de Wyteley, all of the diocese of Chester.
