Certificates issued [? to the king's Council] by Alexander [Totington, bishop of Norwich, former] prior of the cathedral priory of the Holy Trinity, Norwich, in response to the king's letters delivered by Simon de Blakbourne, serjeant at arms, to Richard de Folsham, his deputy, prior of Lynn (Norfolk), and to John de Hoo, prior of Yarmouth (Norfolk), that both men are appointed at pleasure and removable from office, that they have no manner of possessions, goods and chattels, there, but that all possessions there are taxable and that they answer with the tax of the possessions of the priory, although no possessions there are tithable, and that neither may make a grant according to the tenor of the king's letters. The prior excuses himself and his deputies and requests that neither house be doubly charged.
