Description

Inspeximus of Exchequer records relating to part of the taxation of the abbey of Evesham and the deanery of the Vale of Evesham (Worcestershire), as per a commission of the court of Chancery of 30 January 1535, and exemplification of the findings at the request of Bartholomew Kyghly, gentleman. Witnessed by William Peryam, knight.

Parcel of the spiritualities of the former monastery of Evesham:

  • The [abbey] church of St. Mary and St. Tegwin the Bishop, Evesham: the chapel of Church Honeybourne (Worcestershire) with the chapel of Cow Honeybourne (Gloucestershire) annexed to it is worth 12s. per annum in tithes of lamb and wool and £14 8s. 8d. in tithes of sheaves and hay in common years.

Among the valors of chapels and other spiritual preferments in the county and deanery:

  • The chapel of Church Honeybourne (Worcestershire): John Wynfolde, chaplain, curate of Church Honeybourne, has 12s. 4d. in an annual rent and glebe lands for life by an indenture with the monastery, 59s. 10d. in a perpetual pension paid to him per annum by the abbot, and 54s. 6d. in tithes, personal oblations and other minor tithes and profits in common years; total per annum, £6 6s. 8d. 2s. 3½d. have been allowed in a procuration to the abbot and his successors. Total value: £6 4s. 4½d; the tenth part, 12s. 5¼d.
