Copy of the petition to King and Commons in parliament of the provost and college of Eton, that the letters patent granted to them by Henry VI, king of England, should be allowed to stand, thereby confirming them in their possessions in Monk Sherborne (West Sherborne) priory (Hampshire), Beckford priory and manor (Gloucestershire & Lincolnshire), the prebend pertaining to the rectory of Upavon otherwise known as Upavon priory (Wiltshire), with Charlton chapel [in Swanborough hundred] (Wiltshire), and the alien priory of Cowick (Devon) with its appurtenances valued at 100s. to be taken annually from Lewes priory (Sussex) and Preston manor (Sussex). These possessions had been granted away by a series of grants from the first year of the reign of King Edward IV.
