Letters of Henry III to papal officials in England concerning the disputed election to the bishopric of Ely.
1. Letter to Ottobuono, cardinal-deacon of St. Adrian, certifying him of the request by the monks of the vacant church of Ely for licence to elect a bishop, and outlining his exceptions to the subsequent election of the sub-prior of the cathedral priory of Ely, entreating him to assist him given the failure of his appeals to the papacy in the cases of the archbishoprics of York and Dublin.
