Description

Decree from the chancellor [Thomas Goodrich, bishop of Ely] and general surveyors of the estates of former religious houses awarding the patronage of the hospital of St. John, Bedford, to the mayor, burgesses and commonalty of Bedford (Bedfordshire), which hospital was founded by Robert Parys and wherein there has long been a chantry endowed by William Stanton of London, gentleman.
