Description

A file of 144 papers relating to pensions of religious, largely dating from the reign of Philip & Mary, payable in the reign of Elizabeth I.

Note
Many of the documents are requests to Christopher Smyth, clerk of the Pipe of the Exchequer, requesting action for the discharge of the Crown from liability for paying pensions.
