Responsibilities of the Industries Division branches were briefly transferred to the Ministry of Technology in 1969, before passing to the newly created Department of Trade and Industry in 1970. Industries Division 1 was responsible for matters concerning commodities, mainly textiles, leather, flax, hemp, jute, chemicals and tobacco.
