The Board of Trade Journal was first published in September 1886. In 1970 when the Board of Trade and Ministry of Technology were amalgamated to form the Department of Trade and Industry it changed its name to Trade and Industry and later became the responsibility of the Department of Industry. The name was changed again in 1980 to British Business; and it finally ceased publication with the issue of 29 September 1989.
