Land Transport Corps and Siege Train. Duke of Newcastle remonstrates with Lord Raglan on serious defects of transport in the Crimea and imposes scheme of reorganisation. Corps established. Royal warrant 24 January 1855. Corps disbanded (1857). Some transfers to the Military Train. Discontent on disbandment terms examined by a Commons Select Committee. Board of Claims set up. Draft warrant 1858.
