Description

Royal Malta Fencible regiment. Royal warrant 21 July 1847 granting pension to Colonel the Marquis de Piro. Decision that only a native of Malta to command. Reversion of Colonel Simcoe Baynes to half pay. Problems on selection of a successor from Maltese officers.
