The National Lottery Charities Board was an independent body established in August 1994 under the National Lottery etc. Act 1993 to distribute a share of the funds from the National Lottery to charitable, benevolent and philanthropic organisations throughout England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. In 2000 its name was changed to the Community Fund.
