France: map on twenty-seven sheets joined together and mounted in collage on coarse linen, measuring about 49 cm x 58 cm, mounted on sheet up to 68 cm x 105 cm. Each sheet headed: 'Atlas National de France'. Map shows départements as decreed by the National Assembly in January and February 1790 and on 30 January 1791: Aisne, Basses-Alpes, Hautes-Alpes, Ardennes, Ariège, Aude, Bouches-du-Rhône, Doubs, Gard, Hérault, Isère, Jura, Meuse, Moselle, Nord, Pas-de-Calais, Basses-Pyrénées, Hautes-Pyrénées, Pyrénées Orientales, Bas-Rhin, Haut-Rhin, Var. The sheets depicting Mont Blanc and Leman, and Liamone [Corsica] relate to decrees of January 1793, Floréal an VI [May 1797] and July 1793. Each sheet shows division into districts and cantons; rivers, place names, roads. Reference tables. Scale: 14.7cm to 20,000 toises. The 'auteur propriétaire' was P G Chanlaire, rue Geoffroy-Langevin, Paris. Engraved by d'Houdan. Published by Dumez, Director of the Atlas National, Paris. Sold by Charles Picquet, Paris.
