New Zealand: Nukumaru: 'Sketch Illustrating the Engagement at Nukumaru on the 25th January, 1865'. Map shows terrain (hills, rivers, lakes), Paetaia Lake and Mangaemini River, vegetation, Waikato Lake, British redoubts and camp, British and Maori lines, Maori paths. Scale: 8 inches to 1 miles. Compass indicator. Printed name: 'G.R. Graves (sic), Major. D.A.Q.M.G.'. Signed by Lieutenant Colonel D J Gamble, Deputy Quarter Master General, New Zealand. Lithographed at the Topographical Depot of the War Office, under the Superintendence of Lieutenant Colonel A C Cooke, Royal Engineers, Colonel Sir Henry James, Royal Engineers, FRS, Director, 1865. Purple ink annotation (presumably made in the War Office) in upper right margin: 'Model for Coloring JGK'. This is an unnumbered, printed version of MFQ 1/1038 (Part 1 (1) and (6). Formerly in the War Office map library, under reference: 'Oceania B 12(b)'.
