Map of area between 37° S and 38° 10' S and between 174° 30' E and 175° 35' E showing terrain (hills, rivers, lakes, swamps), vegetation; towns, harbours, British and Maori fortified positions, military roads; Mr Reid's mission station. Scale: 1 inch to 2 miles. Inset: 'North Island of New Zealand'. Printed note reads: 'Note. The principal Authorities for this Map are the Admiralty Charts, Sketches by Coll [Colonel] Gamble D.Q.M.G. and other documents procured from the Colony'. Printed note concerning navigational hazards on the Waikato River.
