New Zealand: 'Sketch Map of the Country lying between the Waipa and Horatiu Rivers Shewing the Maori Positions at Pah te Rangi and Piko piko'. Sketch map shows terrain, rivers, paths and horse roads, Maori fortifications. No scale shown, but annotated 'N.B. In a Sketch Map which is made without any Survey the distances are not laid down but the proportions are pretty well preserved and the distances from Tula Karamia to Pikopiko is about 11 miles'. Signed by Richard Todd, FRGS. Signed by A C Cooke. Annotated: 'Copied from a tracing forwarded from the Colonial Office, A.C. Cooke 2/5/64'. Date '2/5/64' also inked in upper, left corner. Formerly in the War Office map library, under the reference: 'Oceania (New Zealand) Battles, Sieges, and Warlike Operations. 5'. Todd emigrated to New Zealand in late 1859 or early 1860; he was struck off the list of Fellows of the Royal Geographical Society in 1861, and died in 1862.
