Sketch map showing coast line (high and low water marks) between Kainga and Crow's Nest Signal Station, coastal terrain (rivers, river valleys, open flat land, old cultivations), vegetation (flax, fern, bush, scrub); British and Maori fortifications, disposition of forces, lines of advance, HMS Eclipse off the mouth of the Katikara River. Sheet embossed with the Royal Arms. Scale: 5 inches to 500 yards. Compass indicator. By the troops under Command of Lieutenant General Cameron, CB. Signed by Lieutenant Colonel D J Gamble, DQMG New Zealand. Lithographed and printed at the Topographical Department, War Office, under the direction of Major Miller, Royal Artillery, Colonel Sir Henry James, Royal Engineers, FRS, MRIA, Director.
