Spain: Minorca: '...General Plan of the island of Minorca, From an Actual Survey ...'. Title in rococo cartouche surmounted by arms with the motto 'Dieu Defende le Droit' and set within a view of a ship in danger from rocky shore. Explanation of the map and note of events since the French occupation of 1756. Explanation of Spanish words used. Compass indicator. Inset 'Chart of the Entrance of the Mediterranean ...' and 'Plan of the Fortifications of St Philip's with Town or A...now entirely demolished...with the New Town...called George Town'. There is a reference table to the letter. Surveyed by Francis Aegidius Assiotti, 'late draughtsman of the Ordnance' and published by him, 1 February 1870. Sold by R Sayer and Bennett, Map and Printsellers, 53 Fleet Street.
