Map shows arcs of fire and lights in the eastern part of the island around Valletta. Reference table to armaments of individual forts. Compass indicator. Inset: map of district around Marsa Scirocco Bay. Lithographed at the Intelligence Division, War Office, July 1899. Gun ranges extend beyond map borders. (2) A similar map, entitled: 'Malta. Map to illustrate the Defence Scheme revised to Jan. [January] 1912 shewing coast defences western section'. Part of a larger sheet. Annotated in pencil: 'G.S.G.S. No. 1990' and 'W.O. Jan. [War Office January] 1905'. Dimensions: (1) 48 cm x 68 cm; (2) 63 cm x 70 cm.
