IDWO 1212 (Provisional Issue). 'Map of the Island of Malta', showing contours, roads, railways, buildings, place names. Includes a sheet of sections through the island south of Valletta. Reference table and list of errata. Compass indicator. Sketched and compiled in 1895 by Captain E M Woodward, Leicestershire Regiment, Deputy Assistant Adjutant General, under the direction of General Sir A J Lyon Fremantle. Triangulation by the Civil Government Surveyor. Coastline from Admiralty charts. Lithographed at the Intelligence Division, War Office, 1897. This piece contains another version of the map, damaged, with coloured manuscript additions showing positions of batteries and their arcs of fire.
