(2-11) Nine sheets of outline plans of fortifications: (2) Hatherwood battery; (3) Warden battery; (4) Fort Albert; (5-6) Fort Victoria; (7) Cliff End; (8-9) Golden Hill Fort; (10) New Needles Battery; (11) Old Needles Battery. Scale: (2, 8-11) 1 inch to 20 feet [1:240]; (3) 1 inch to 30 feet [1:360]; (4) 1:500; (5-7) 1 inch to 40 feet [1:480]. Compass indicators to each sheet. [By] S Ereland Isted, Topographical Clerk of Works and Draughtsman, at various dates between August 1895 and July 1896; signed by Lieutenant Colonel A J Preston, Commanding Royal Engineer, Isle of Wight, at various dates between September 1895 and August 1896. Items (7, 10-11) on tracing cloth. Several of the plans bear coloured manuscript amendments, made at various dates during 1899 and 1900. (12) Blank back cover.
